What is your morning routine with your children? When it comes to my kids, Max, my five-year-old son, is always the first one to get up. This to happen at any hour between 1 and 4 AM, but recently, he has started to get up between 4:30 and 5:30 AM. (Oh yes, a bottle of champagne is being chilled in the fridge once this getting-up-after-3am becomes official!) Every morning, I make a small cup of warm cacao from Rawganiq for Max and myself. He loves chocolate, and so do I. I do not like anything too sweet and fortunately Max has not been exposed to too much sugar in his diet. It has become our ritual, to enjoy that beautiful cup of warm cacao, to start our day.
Win the Morning, Win the Day
To me, it is a blessing to have found Rawganiq raw cacao powder. Max is a brain-damaged child, thanks to the multiple brain surgeries he had when he was a baby to remove a brain tumour. He had also gone through chemotherapy and radiation. I always seek healthy and delicious superfoods to add to his diet. If I can offer him antioxidant-rich foods that can improve his mood, with abundant vitamins while at the same time managing to be yummy, the day is already a win. When we win the morning, I feel the day is our oyster.
Besides raw cacao powder, I am a fan of many Rawganiq products— they produce some of the best organic food Thailand offers. Some delicious examples include their organic tahini, organic black sesame paste, which is rich is Omega 3, 6 and 9. And do you know that Black Sesame has more calcium in the same serving than milk? It is also abundant in proteins, vitamin E (which is wonderful for hair, nails, and skin) and fiber. I spread it on my toast every morning. I am not sure, but I would also include it as one of the reasons why I still have not a single white hair in my 40s.
Therefore, I feel I must include Rawganiq when I started writing about nice Thai brand. I reached out to the brand owner Khun Jeeda, who was super nice to share with me more about Rawganiq.
Taitai: Are you a Thai family or expat who live in Thailand?
Rawganiq: Yes, we are a family business, with myself (Jeeda – Thai) and my husband (Warren – South African).
Taitai: When did you start the brand?
Rawganiq: The brand, Rawganiq, was launched in 2016, but our manufacturing business (www.truly-organics.com) was started in 2015.
Taitai: What are your Best-sellers? Tell me about the most expensive items and least expensive items.
Rawganiq: Our bestselling organic products are organic tahini, peanut butter, raw cacao powder, spirulina powder, flaxseed powder, flaxseed oil and extra virgin olive oil. Our most expensive item is Organic chlorella powder 300g (1,250 THB). Our least expensive items are our peanut butter 200g (creamy or crunchy) which is 99THB.
At time of writing, THB is trading at 35.54 USD.
Taitai: Where can readers find your organic products? (I got mine from Supermarket and a cafe called Woo Phuket)
Rawganiq: The full range of our products are available online via our website, www.rawganiq.com, Shopee, Lazada. And some products are also available in Villa Market and some selected organic/health food stores (like Woo Phuket, which has a huge selection of the organic products Thailand has to offer.)
The Brand that Adheres to the Strictest Standards
Due to Max’s medical condition, I am quite OCD when it comes to the quality of “superfood.” I want to know they are really what they claim they are, and assured that I am actually putting something good into Max’s system. That is why I trust Rawganiq, as it has received multiple certifications regarding its quality. Not only it is USDA Organic certified, but it also has GHP and HACCP certifications which credit its safety standards. In addition, they offer REAL RAW Foods that are processed below 47 degrees Celsius. This is quite essential to consumers as certain nutrients could only be preserved and delivered below certain temperatures so they aren’t destroyed by heat.
The Anti-Cancer Cupboard Filled with Rawganiq Products
My son is no longer on any medication. However, I make sure I fill a cupboard in the kitchen with superfood to add to (or hide in) his diet. He eats oatmeal in the morning, and we we add a bit of wheatgrass, chia seed, banana and nut butter into his bowl of goodies.
Max has fallen in love with Goji Berry. It makes a perfect snack for him. I love putting them into a Surprise Egg. A surprise egg fits perfectly in his palm, which easily allows him to feed himself. I cannot praise goji berry enough as a superfood. It does wonderful things for our eyes and vision. It also stabilizes blood sugar, which is super important to cancer patients due to the fact that glucose feeds cancer cells. It prevents liver damage and helps detoxifying the organ, and helps prevent cancer while boosting our immune system.
For his main meals, flaxseed oil is always stirred into his food. Flaxseed oil has very good omegas that would fight inflammation and improve sleep quality.
And of course, everything I mentioned above and beyond could be found at Rawganiq.
Seeds to Ready-to-Eat Promise
It is the brand belief and transparency that gives me confidence to entrust my family’s health in its hands. Rawganiq believes that “food without nutrients is not worth consuming.” This is really important to me as sometimes getting children to consume healthy food is a chore. I want those superfoods to really worth my while, and money! As Rawganiq has a stamp of HONEST NUTRITION, I feel I can consume without worries or doubts. I also love that they are conscious to their impact to the environment and would only source products that would not harm the environment.
For our next generation, Live Your Best and Leave Only Prints! With a brand with this as motto, it is definitely a great Thai organic food brand to include in your kitchen!
